If turbines can be shown to be unsafe, opponents would have a real lever to keep them out of
their backyards. No one claims there are no risks with turbines, but opinions vary widely about
what risk they present and if that risk is acceptable. I don't have much to add one way or
another. If you know of any additional papers that should be included here, please let me
know.
- Palmer submission, 0.2mb to the Ontario EBR, with the safety comments starting on page 9.
- Wind-watch's accident compilation, 0.3mb, a listing of all known accidents, not just to humans.
- Palmer Paper, 1.2mb, actually 3 papers in one. Part 1 (6 pages) takes Ontario's Ministry of Energy to task for poor thinking. Part 2 (13 pages) studies the risks involved in turbines. Part 3 (10 pages) is his "Issues, Truth, Hype" grid - on its side.
- Palmer Grid, 0.1mb, the "Issues, Truth, Hype" grid rotated so its easier to read.
- Pierpont Paper, 0.1mb, Health, Hazard and Quality of Life.
- Paul Gipe, a summary of fatal wind turbine accidents
